Sternenberg Family
History and Genealogy

Welcome to my Sternenberg family history and genealogy site.  I previously had a yahoo geocities account but it closed and I wasn't notified so I lost all my information unless I pay to have one of their sites and uploaded.  For now I am doing this to transition.  Please email me at kelkolkat@hotmail.com if you need any family information.
This site will show you the Sternenberg Family decendant line, family pictures old and new and the family tree. Please fill free to sign my guest book and leave any information you would like about the site or about the Sternenberg family. Also, look through the links below to find the Sternenberg Decendent Layout, family pictures, the Family Tree, history about the Sternenberg family and name, pictures of Star Hill, Texas. On this page you will find pictures of my father Al Sternenberg, my grandparents Bill and Sweetie Sternenberg and my great grand father Alfred Warren. Most of the following information I recieved from a relative that had this typed out.  If anyone knows the story different I would love to hear their side or see information on it.
Friedrich Wilhelm Von Sternenberg, Sr. and family resided in the town of Barmen Prussia-Germany. He was a member of the aristocracy of Germany, and a wealthy ribbon manufacturer. The family left Germany in 1850 because of compulsory military training, bringing with them a load of fancy ribbons. They met with much misfortune at sea, the youngest a baby daughter nine months old died November 1850 on ship in the Atlantic Ocean and was buried at sea. The boatload of ribbons was lost. They landed in Galveston November of 1850 and from there went to Industry and New Ulm in Austin County. They purchased land between Industry and New Ulm and named the settlement “Starhill”, which is the English meaning of Sternenberg. A portion of the land was set aside as a family burring ground. The Sternenberg’s engaged in the lumber business around New Ulm, Starhill and Industry.

Sternenberg Family wine from Germany.  I was grateful to get a bottle from one of the family members.  It's very old and cloudy.
